An Update

OK so weekly updates didnt work so well so here is a summary of what has happened over the past few months....

16/09 - Inside some extra noggins got installed (standing verticla) for things like towel rails and toilet roll holders. I had some extra ones installed behind the main TV also.
Bricks had started to go up (I think we were about a day into it) and the roofers had been and gone!

20/09 - Inspection occured on the frame. Nothing major was found wrong. All the pink in the photos is some examples of the defects picked up. The ph

27/09 - Brick work finished - Solar panel installed on the roof!

27/09 (Inside) - Insulation was completed as well as some plumbing. The first two photos are my great wall of insulation I installed between the kids bedroom. The yellow batts in the photo are normal glasswool R1.5 batts. The green looking ones are soundscreen R2.5. There is also soundscreen between the bedrooms and theartre room to help stop the noise.

04/10 - Plastering completed in the house. Plaster board was installed and the plasterer had gone through to patch up the joins and cover the nails. Useless fact: This level of finish of a wall is level 4 and is the standard for domestic finishes. Its pretty level but you may always see the join, particularly in ceilings. The highest, level 5 I believe is the entire wall plastered completely smooth but I hate to think how much that would cost..

8/10 - Today the kitchen, bathroom cabinets, laundry cabints and all the sinks were installed.

A nice view also of dusk looking out through the area where the bi-fold doors will go.

11/10 - Bricks cleaned and bi-folds installed. Apparently the brown terrain bricks bleed into the mortor so they will need cleaning once more before handover and probably again during the 3 month maintenance. Really love the bi-folds..

22/10 - Stone benches are in! The island and the waterfalls as well. Cost heaps but worth it I think! Various pictures of the study, ensuite and main living area.

26/10 - Chief inspector underpants has been through and picked up afew defects in the house, checked the dimensions of the rooms (which we also checked and were amazingly accurate). The picture of the sliced plaster is in the garage where the SS cut the plaster to let the water out that was leaking through the roof. View of the nice front door from outside aswell.

There was also some water damage in one of the girls berooms from a tile not being pulled foward all the way to the gutter. It is very minor and the tile is now in place.

27/10 - Inside front door - Outside - Flags for the new Sierra release.

2/11 - Fixing plaster in the garage. Still a little concerned about the water in the garage, have to see what happens the next time it rains to see if the water is blowing in from the front or the roof is still leaking.
